Description
Outdoor-Rated Multimode Fiber for Backbone Runs
The OM3 Fiber Optic Cable is a four-core outdoor multimode cable supplied per meter. It uses 50/125 µm graded-index fiber rated for 10GBASE-SR links up to 300 m. Each core carries OM3 laser-optimized performance for backbone and campus runs.
The loose-tube construction holds four fibers in a gel-filled central tube. Water-blocking yarns and a UV-stabilized outer jacket protect the bundle outdoors. Attenuation is 3.0 dB/km at 850 nm and 1.0 dB/km at 1300 nm. Bandwidth reaches 1500 MHz·km at 850 nm and 500 MHz·km at 1300 nm.
The cable installs in ducts, trays and aerial lashed routes. Bend radius is 20 times the outer diameter under load and 10 times when static. Tensile load reaches 400 N during installation. Operating temperature spans -40 °C to +70 °C, and the sheath resists UV exposure and moisture ingress.
Key Features
Four-Core OM3 Construction
Four 50/125 µm fibers sit in one tube for duplex and parallel optics over short backbone spans.Loose-Tube Design
- Gel-filled central tube buffers the fibers against strain
- Water-blocking yarns limit moisture migration along the core
Laser-Optimized Core Profile
The graded-index profile supports 10GBASE-SR transmission to 300 m.Outdoor Jacket
A UV-stabilized sheath tolerates sunlight, rain and temperature cycling on external routes.Per-Meter Supply
The cable is cut to the ordered length, which reduces offcut waste on short runs.Wide Thermal Window
Operation from -40 °C to +70 °C covers exposed trays and unheated enclosures.Standards-Based Build
The construction follows IEC 60794 and suits ISO/IEC 11801 channel design.

Why Choose This OM3 Cable
Four fibers in one sheath simplify duplex and parallel uplinks between cabinets.
The loose-tube core isolates the glass from pulling strain during installation.
Water-blocking yarns reduce moisture risk in ducts and buried conduits.
Per-meter ordering matches the actual route length and limits surplus stock.
The UV-stabilized jacket suits aerial spans and exposed external trays.

Esther Wanjiku (verified owner) –
Per meter cut was accurate, cable arrived as ordered.
Victor Omondi (verified owner) –
Solid jacket.
Ruth Chebet (verified owner) –
Spliced fine, terminated without issues.
Paul Githinji (verified owner) –
Cable is thick, good for outdoor runs.
