Loaded 1U Fibre Distribution Panel for OM3 Backbones

The 12 port SC/UPC ODF is a pre-terminated 19-inch panel that ships with duplex multimode adapters and colour-coded pigtails already spliced. It mounts in 1U of rack space and presents 24 fibre terminations through twelve SC duplex couplers. The slide-out tray gives technicians front access to the splice cassette without removing the housing.

Each coupler uses a ceramic alignment sleeve rated for 1,000 mating cycles, with insertion loss held to 0.2 dB or less. The OM3 pigtails use 50/125 µm laser-optimised fibre with a 900 µm buffered coating and an aqua LSZH jacket. Return loss meets a 25 dB minimum at the UPC interface.

The 480 x 243 x 44 mm steel housing includes a splice tray, two PG13.5 cable clamps and six cable ties. Four sets of M6 screws secure the panel to a standard 19-inch rail. Operating range spans -40°C to 85°C, which covers unheated comms rooms and outdoor cabinets.

Channel loss depends on adapter and splice quality. A duplex pair carries 10GBASE-SR to 300 m and 40GBASE-SR4 to 100 m over OM3. The panel supports twelve duplex links, which suits a collapsed backbone between a core switch and two access closets.
