Description
Multimode Duplex Lead for 10G Links
The OM3 fiber patch cord joins an SC/UPC port to an LC/UPC port over a 2 m duplex run. Laser-optimised 50/125 µm glass carries 850 nm and 1300 nm VCSEL traffic. Aqua LSZH jacketing identifies the multimode grade on sight and restricts smoke and halogen release during a fire event.
UPC endfaces use a flat, extended polish that returns at least 35 dB on multimode connectors. Typical insertion loss sits near 0.15 dB, with 0.30 dB as the working maximum under IEC 61300-3-4 Method B. The LC body measures 1.25 mm across the ferrule, and the SC body measures 2.5 mm, so the lead bridges compact SFP cages and fixed SC adapters without a second jumper.
OM3 bandwidth supports 10GBASE-SR to 300 m and 1000BASE-SX to 550 m. Parallel optics run 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR10 to 100 m over the same grade. The 2 mm to 3 mm duplex cable bends to a 20 mm dynamic radius, which eases routing inside cabinets and behind patch panels. Operating range spans -20 °C to 60 °C.
