Singlemode Outside Plant Cable

The outdoor OS2 fiber cable carries four single-mode fibres in a loose-tube construction for outside plant runs. Each fibre uses a 9/125 µm core and cladding geometry with G.652.D low-water-peak performance. The cable ships cut to length and metre-marked for installation records.

A gel-filled central tube blocks water ingress along the cable core. Non-metallic strength members carry tensile load, and a UV-stabilised black outer jacket protects the assembly from sunlight and abrasion. The all-dielectric design removes the need for bonding and grounding at splice closures.

Typical attenuation reaches 0.35 dB/km at 1310 nm and 0.25 dB/km at 1550 nm. The cable handles duct, conduit and aerial lashed installation. Bend radius and tensile ratings support pulls through standard outside plant routes.
