Description
Handheld Imaging Scanner for Retail and Logistics
The M-6255M 2D barcode scanner reads printed labels and on-screen codes with a 640 x 480 CMOS area sensor. It decodes 1D and 2D symbologies including QR Code, Data Matrix and PDF417. A manual trigger starts each read, and the USB interface reports as a HID keyboard to the host.
Resolution reaches 5 mil on 1D codes and 10 mil on 2D codes at PCS 0.9. The scan field covers 35 to 190 mm on a 13 mil EAN-13 label. Yaw and pitch tolerance sit at ±60 degrees, and rotation runs a full 360 degrees, so operators do not need to square the label. The sensor captures up to 50 frames per second for fast sweep reads.
Working current measures about 120 mA from a 5V DC supply, which a standard USB port delivers without an auxiliary adapter. The 2 m cable reaches from a counter terminal to the scanner rest position. A 1.5 m drop rating to concrete covers routine counter and trolley handling. The ABS and PC housing weighs 112 g and measures 83 x 70 x 172 mm.
Key Features
CMOS Area Imaging Sensor
A 640 x 480 pixel sensor captures linear barcodes, stacked codes and matrix codes from paper or screens.1D and 2D Symbology Coverage
- 1D: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI
- 2D: QR Code, Data Matrix ECC200, PDF417, Aztec
- Reads from printed labels and mobile phone displays
USB HID and Virtual COM Output
The scanner enumerates as a keyboard wedge for plug-and-play use or as a virtual COM port for application control.Manual Trigger Operation
A single press starts decoding, which limits stray reads in busy checkout lanes.Wide Reading Envelope
Yaw and pitch of ±60 degrees plus 360-degree rotation accept labels presented at awkward angles.Rugged ABS and PC Housing
The 112 g body survives 1.5 m drops to concrete and operates from -20°C to 60°C.

Quick start guide
Why Choose This Imaging Reader
The area sensor reads both printed labels and loyalty codes on phone screens without a second device.
HID keyboard output needs no driver install on Windows, Linux or POS terminals.
The ±60 degree yaw and pitch tolerance reduces operator re-presentation at busy counters.
5 mil linear and 10 mil matrix resolution cover retail price labels and warehouse carton codes.
The 1.5 m drop rating and sealed ABS housing suit trolley, counter and loading-bay handling.
A 2 m cable lets installers route from terminal to stand with slack for movement.
