Side-Mount Bracket Kit for Roof Rack Awnings

The Front Runner awning brackets RRAC029 mount an Easy-Out awning to the side rail of a Slimline II roof rack. The kit contains three brackets and a nuts-and-bolts set. Installers fit the brackets to the side channel without drilling the rack or the vehicle body.

Each bracket measures 49 mm long, 128 mm wide and 87.5 mm high, and the whole kit weighs 1.36 kg. The brackets are cut from 3 mm steel and finished in black powder coat. That coating matches the weather-resistant finish used across the Front Runner accessory range, so the hardware holds up to sun, dust and coastal salt.

Pre-drilled slots align with side-channel spacing between 1-1/2 inches and 2-1/8 inches. Adjustable bracket spacing lets the installer suit different awning lengths and mounting slot patterns. The brackets work on the driver or passenger side, which lets one kit serve either awning orientation. Beyond the Front Runner Easy-Out range, the same bracket accepts other popular awning brands with compatible slot spacing.

Installation requires basic hand tools and runs from the side channel outward. Bolts pass through the bracket slots into the rack channel, and the awning base then bolts to the bracket face. Three brackets spread the awning load along the rack rail rather than concentrating it at two points. Front Runner specifies the Slimsport and Slimpro Van Rack platforms need the RRAC182 side mount accessory bracket, which sells separately.
