Log-Effect Gas Fireplace Heater

The Alva GFP100 is a log-effect gas fireplace heater that delivers 7.3 kW of infrared heat to rooms up to 80 m². It burns LPG from a standard 9 kg cylinder and requires no chimney or building work. Ceramic logs radiate warmth while mimicking a traditional wood fire.

The unit measures 520 mm wide, 280 mm deep and 290 mm high, and weighs 5.3 kg. Gas consumption peaks at 521 g/hr. An integrated piezo igniter lights the pilot without external power. The heater operates on a regulated 2.8 kPa supply and uses a 1.63 mm injector.

Three safety systems protect the installation. An oxygen depletion sensor shuts the unit down when ambient carbon monoxide reaches 200 ppm. Flame failure protection cuts gas flow if the pilot extinguishes. A positive-off control lets the operator isolate the burner at the knob. The appliance carries LPGSA approval under SANS 1539.

The log set sits inside a stainless steel chassis. A bullnose regulator connects directly to the cylinder valve, and the hose and regulator are not included. Installers should place the heater on a level, non-flammable surface and keep it at least 1 m from flammable materials. Four mounting points allow floor fastening where required.

Service access covers the injector, pilot assembly and thermocouple. The ceramic logs remove for cleaning without tools. A 12-month warranty covers domestic use.
