Fixed Towing Coupling for Trailer Hitches

The goose neck tow ball provides a fixed 50 mm coupling point for trailer and caravan hitches. The swan neck geometry moves the ball rearward and upward from the mounting flange. This offset improves clearance between the trailer drawbar and the vehicle bumper during tight turns.

The ball measures 50 mm in diameter, matching the standard size for European and Australian trailer couplings. A hard chrome-plated finish resists corrosion from road salt, mud and standing water. The tapered neck flows into a wide base that spreads towing loads across the mounting plate.

Two bolt holes secure the assembly to a standard flange tow bar with 90 mm hole centres and 17 mm bolt holes. The fixed design carries no moving parts, so there is nothing to lubricate or release before coupling. Typical applications include box trailers, boat trailers, caravans and light commercial towing within the vehicle’s rated capacity.

Regular inspection of the ball surface and bolt torque keeps the coupling within specification. Light grease on the ball reduces wear and squeal during towing. Replace the unit if the chrome shows deep scoring or the neck develops cracks.
