The Front Runner potjie carrier is a rack-mounted bracket that secures a #3 cast iron potjie pot or Dutch oven to any Front Runner rack tray. It carries the pot outside the vehicle, away from interior cargo and bedding. A ratchet strap threads through the lid and anchors to the bracket, so the pot stays put on rough tracks. The carrier ships with the pot included, which removes the guesswork of matching a pot to the bracket.

The #3 cast iron pot holds 7.8 litres (2.1 gallons). Its round shape spreads heat evenly around the sides and keeps liquids at the lowest point to limit burning. The lid carries a deep lip that holds hot coals for top heat. The pot measures 290 mm across at the maximum outer diameter and 300 mm high, with a 260 mm lid diameter. Total weight with the pot is 11.25 kg.

The carrier uses high-strength steel with the same weather-resistant black powder coating as the Slimline II rack. A nylon ratchet strap and strap guide hold the pot in place. The pot sits on its three legs inside the bracket, which keeps the base clear of the mounting surface. The assembled unit measures 280 mm wide, 280 mm deep and 343 mm high including the pot.

Installation slides bolts into the T-slots of any Front Runner rack tray. Set the carrier down, add nuts and tighten. No drilling is needed, and the bracket accepts the pot without tools beyond the supplied hardware. Route the ratchet strap through the lid handle and over the strap guide before tensioning. Check the strap tension after the first rough section of a trip.
