CloudKey Plus with SSD

The UniFi CloudKey Gen2 Plus (UCK-G2-SSD) is a compact UniFi OS console with onboard SSD. It runs UniFi Network and can run Protect for a modest camera count, unlike a diskless CloudKey. Power is typically PoE or USB-C per the Gen2 Plus hardware. It is not a gateway: WAN routing still needs a UniFi router, UCG, UDR, or UDM. It is not UNVR-Pro; HDD capacity and camera scale are much smaller on CloudKey.

Additionally, SSD reduces spin-up noise and improves Protect clip access versus an HDD-only NVR for tiny sites. Therefore a shop with a handful of cameras can keep recordings on-box. However, SSD size is finite and not a RAID set. Consequently, export important clips and do not treat CloudKey as a long-retention NVR. If you need seven HDD bays, use UNVR-Pro instead.

Additionally, take automatic UniFi backups to another host. Therefore a dead SSD does not wipe the site config. However, camera count on CloudKey Plus is capped. Consequently, count 4K bitrates before promising 30-day retention. Keep the unit on a UPS. If the site already has UCG-Max or UDM-Pro-Max, you may not need a separate CloudKey—confirm you are not doubling consoles.
