Description
Studded Traction Boards for Sand, Mud and Snow
The Front Runner Sand Trax ships as a matched pair of recovery tracks that slot under a spinning tyre to restore forward grip. A raised stud pattern bites into the tread and converts wheel rotation into forward motion. Drivers deploy them on soft sand, clay mud, packed snow and deep ruts.
The pair measures 440 mm long, 240 mm wide and 200 mm high, with a combined weight of 6.9 kg. That compact format fits behind a seat, inside a drawer system or strapped to a roof rack. Each track carries an attached recovery rope, so the driver drags the board out of the bog after the vehicle clears it.
The stud array runs across the full contact face, and the board edges taper so a tyre climbs onto the surface rather than pushing it forward. Ridged side walls stiffen the platform under load. The same pair works as a wheel chock on a slope when the vehicle is parked for recovery or repairs.
Deployment follows a fixed sequence. Clear sand or mud from the front of the stuck tyre, lay the track with the studs facing up and push the leading edge under the tread. Feed throttle gently until the tyre climbs onto the board and the vehicle rolls clear. Stop, retrieve the track by its rope, and repeat on the opposite wheel if the vehicle digs in again.
Rinse the boards after use, since grit packed into the stud recesses reduces bite on the next recovery. Inspect the rope attachment points and the stud faces before each trip. Store the pair dry, away from direct sunlight, to limit UV ageing of the polymer body.

Matched Pair
The kit supplies two tracks, so both driven wheels can be supported during a recovery.Stud Grip Pattern
Raised studs press into the tyre tread and generate traction on loose or slick ground.Attached Recovery Ropes
Each track carries a rope loop, which lets the driver pull the board free without digging.Secondary Wheel Chock Duty
The rigid body wedges under a tyre to hold a vehicle on a slope during recovery work.Compact Stow Format
- 440 mm long by 240 mm wide by 200 mm high.
- 6.9 kg for the pair.
- Fits drawer systems, footwells and roof rack mounts.
- Tapered edges help the tyre climb onto the surface.
Ridged Side Walls
Stiffening ribs resist flexing when the tyre loads the centre of the board.

Why Choose These Recovery Tracks
A studded contact face converts wheel spin into forward motion on loose ground.
The 6.9 kg pair stays manageable for one person to position and retrieve.
Attached ropes remove the need to dig a buried board out of the sand.
The compact footprint stores in a drawer system without a dedicated rack.
Dual duty as a wheel chock covers recovery and roadside repair work.
The pair supports both driven wheels on a part-time or full-time 4×4.
