Description
Active DP to VGA Adapter for Legacy Monitors and Projectors
The Vention HBLBG DisplayPort is an active adapter cable that converts a DisplayPort output to an analog VGA signal. The integrated ANX9833 chipset handles the digital-to-analog conversion at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60 Hz refresh. A 1.5 m lead connects source and display without an external power supply.
The cable carries 30 AWG tinned copper conductors inside a 7.0 mm PVC jacket. Double shielding combines aluminium foil with a metal braid to limit EMI in dense equipment racks. Gold-plated contacts on both the DisplayPort and VGA male connectors resist oxidation in humid rooms. The DisplayPort plug uses a fastener design that locks into the source port.
Signal flow is unidirectional, from DisplayPort source to VGA display. The adapter supports Windows hosts and works with projectors, monitors, televisions and laptops. Connector shells measure 39 x 20.5 x 7 mm at the DP end and 35.5 x 44 x 7 mm at the VGA end. The assembly weighs 128.6 g and carries a one-year warranty.
Key Features
Active Conversion Chipset
The ANX9833 bridge converts the digital DisplayPort stream to analog VGA without host-side configuration.Full HD Analog Output
The adapter drives 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, matching the native resolution of most legacy monitors and projectors.Signal Integrity Construction
- 30 AWG tinned copper conductors
- Aluminium foil and braided double shielding
- 7.0 mm PVC outer jacket
Gold-Plated Interfaces
24K gold plating on the DP and VGA pins limits terminal oxidation and maintains contact resistance over repeated mating cycles.Fastener-Locked DP Plug
The DisplayPort connector includes a latch mechanism that secures the cable to the source port during movement or cable pulls.Unidirectional Signal Path
The cable transmits only from DisplayPort to VGA and does not support reverse connection from a VGA source.

Why Choose the Vention HBLBG
The active DP to VGA cable connects modern graphics outputs to older projectors and monitors without a separate converter box.
Double-shielded 30 AWG construction preserves 1080p 60Hz signal quality across the 1.5 m run.
Gold-plated contacts and a fastener-locked DP plug suit permanent installs in lecterns and equipment cupboards.
Bus-powered operation removes the need for a local power outlet at the display end.
The ANX9833 adapter handles EDID negotiation so the host detects the VGA display resolution automatically.

Works fine. Gold pins feel solid and the cable is thick enough not to tangle easily.

Needed this for an older VGA projector in our boardroom. Plugged into the DisplayPort on the laptop and the projector picked up 1080p straight away, no driver install. The 1.5m length is just right for a lectern setup.

Ordered on a Monday and it reached Nakuru by Thursday. Tested it on three different monitors and the VGA signal was stable each time. The adapter chip handles the digital to analog conversion without the colour shift I have seen on cheap cables.

Directional cable, so be sure you need DisplayPort source to VGA display. That suited my setup exactly.

We still run a number of VGA projectors in our training rooms and this cable bridges them to newer laptops. The active conversion chip has held up through two weeks of daily use, and the connectors seat firmly without any flicker. Packaging was in good order when it arrived.
