Description
Mini DP to VGA Signal Conversion
The Vention HBDBB converter translates a Mini DisplayPort output to an analogue VGA signal for projectors, monitors, and legacy displays. It supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. The active conversion chipset handles digital-to-analogue conversion without host-side configuration.
The adapter uses a 34 AWG pure copper conductor with aluminium foil shielding and a 5.0 mm outer diameter. Gold-plated contacts on both the Mini DP male and VGA female ends resist oxidation. An ABS shell and PVC jacket protect the assembly across repeated handling. The 0.15 m cable length keeps the adapter compact for tight spaces.
Transmission is directional from Mini DisplayPort to VGA, so the source must be a Mini DP host. The unit draws no external power and requires no driver installation. It supports 3D and Full HD 1080p signals. A 1-year warranty covers the assembly. The black finish suits standard office and AV installations.
Key Features
Active Conversion Chipset
An integrated chip performs the digital-to-analogue conversion, so the host needs no driver or configuration.Gold-Plated Contacts
- Plated pins on the Mini DP male and VGA female connectors resist oxidation.
- Stable contact resistance across repeated mating cycles.
Pure Copper Conductor
A 34 AWG copper core carries the video signal with aluminium foil shielding against interference.Compact 0.15 m Cable
The short assembly reduces strain on the host port and fits behind wall-mounted displays.Directional Signal Path
The adapter operates from Mini DisplayPort to VGA and does not support reverse connection.

Why Choose the HBDBB
The active chipset covers legacy VGA displays without requiring a separate power supply.
Gold plating on both connectors keeps signal integrity stable across repeated patching in shared meeting rooms.
The 0.15 m cable reduces leverage on the Mini DP port when the adapter hangs from a projector input.
Aluminium foil shielding limits interference in racks alongside power cabling.
A 1-year warranty covers the assembly for procurement records.

Plugged this into my old MacBook and the projector recognised it straight away. No drivers needed and the 1080p output is clean. Very handy for boardroom presentations.

Delivered to Nairobi within a week and sealed properly. The short 0.15m cable keeps things tidy when connecting to older monitors at the office. Picture is sharp at 1080p.

We use these to connect newer laptops to legacy VGA projectors in our meeting rooms. Works reliably so far, though the adapter housing feels a bit plasticky. No signal drops during hour-long presentations.
Mercy Achieng (verified owner) –
Works as expected. DisplayPort to VGA is an older conversion but this handles it without fuss. Compact enough to leave in the laptop bag.

I bought one for our training room where we still run a VGA-only projector. The converter has worked consistently across weekly sessions, and the 1080p 60Hz output keeps slides and video smooth. The short cable is a plus because it stops the adapter dangling off the laptop port. Only small issue is that some very old projectors needed a moment to lock onto the signal after plugging in. Otherwise a solid little unit that has saved us from replacing working hardware.
