Description
Dual-Band Coverage Expansion
The TP-Link RE450 AC1750 repeats an existing 802.11ac network and pushes usable signal into rooms the primary router cannot reach. It runs 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios concurrently and advertises the same SSID as the host access point, so clients move between them without manual reconfiguration.
TP-Link rates the 5 GHz radio at 1300 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz radio at 450 Mbps, giving an aggregate PHY rate of 1750 Mbps. Three adjustable external antennas with high-powered amplifiers shape the radiation pattern around the mounting point.
A single Gigabit Ethernet port turns the unit into a wireless bridge for a wired client such as a console, set-top box or desktop. The wall-plug chassis draws a maximum of 10 W from a 100–240 V socket and requires no separate power adapter.
Key Features
Three Adjustable External Antennas
Each antenna tilts and rotates independently, letting an installer aim gain toward the weak coverage zone instead of radiating evenly.EasyMesh-Compatible Networking
- Pairs with an EasyMesh router to form one coordinated multi-node network
- Supports band steering and client roaming between mesh nodes
Intelligent Signal Indicator
A multi-colour LED reports received signal strength so the technician can test candidate wall sockets before committing to a position.Dual Working Modes
Range Extender mode repeats a wireless uplink; Access Point mode uses the Ethernet port as a wired backhaul for a new WLAN.Gigabit Wired Bridge
The 10/100/1000 port delivers full line-rate throughput to a single attached device over Cat5e or Cat6 cabling.Tether App and Web GUI
Configuration is available through the TP-Link Tether app on iOS and Android or through the HTTP/HTTPS web interface on ports 80 and 443.

AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender RE450
Quick Installation Guide
Why Choose the RE450
The 802.11ac platform delivers roughly three times the throughput of an 802.11n repeater, which keeps HD and 4K streams from saturating the uplink.
Concurrent dual-band operation lets legacy 2.4 GHz devices and 5 GHz clients share the backhaul without competing for airtime.
The Gigabit port removes the wireless bottleneck for a single fixed client such as a NAS or IP camera.
Wall-plug mounting avoids cable runs and keeps the node inside the coverage area rather than at the distribution board.
EasyMesh support allows staged expansion: add nodes as floor area grows without replacing the existing router.

Signal now reaches the backyard and the AC1750 speeds are genuine. I liked that it can work as a mesh node with my TP-Link router, so no faffing with separate SSIDs. Delivery to Kisumu was quick.

We use this in a small office in Ngong Road to extend coverage to the meeting room. The dual-band AC1750 is a real spec that matters when several people are on video at once, and it’s held up well. The wall-plug design is convenient but it does block the second socket, so keep that in mind. Overall, good value for a mesh-capable extender.

Got this for my parents’ place in Karen, where the router sits in the sitting room and the bedrooms were dead zones. It did the job, though I had to try a couple of socket positions before the sweet spot. The smart signal indicator LED helped with that. Stable for the past month.
Mercy Wanjiku (verified owner) –
Our bedroom at the far end of the house had zero signal until I plugged this in. The Gigabit port is a nice touch because I ran a cable to my work desk and now video calls are stable. Setup via the TP-Link app took maybe five minutes. Only thing is the unit is a bit bulky on the socket, but it’s fine.

Works fine, does what it says.
