Description
Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 Access Point for Exposed Sites
The TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor is an AX1800 indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point built for pools, cafés, parks and other exposed sites. It pairs 2×2 dual-band radios with a weatherproof housing and Omada SDN management.
The 2.4 GHz radio delivers 574 Mbps and the 5 GHz radio delivers 1201 Mbps, for an aggregate 1775 Mbps. OFDMA, MU-MIMO and beamforming raise multi-user efficiency. Two high-power amplifiers and dual 4/5 dBi antennas extend coverage to 200 m on 2.4 GHz and 300 m on 5 GHz.
A single Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port accepts 802.3at PoE+ or 48 V passive PoE. Maximum consumption is 13.2 W on EU models and 14.7 W on US models. The IP68 enclosure resists dust and water ingress, while 6 kV lightning protection and 15 kV ESD protection harden the unit for outdoor mounting.
Key Features
- Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 radios
Two spatial streams on each band support 1024-QAM and 80 MHz channels for 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps at 5 GHz. - Long-range RF front end
Dedicated high-power amplifiers drive two 4 dBi antennas at 2.4 GHz and two 5 dBi antennas at 5 GHz. - Omada Mesh and fast roaming
Wireless uplinks between access points reduce cabling, while 802.11k/v/r steering keeps clients on the best signal. - Weatherproof construction
The IP68-rated chassis tolerates -30 to 70 °C operating temperatures and resists dust, shock and moisture. - Flexible power input
- 802.3at PoE+ from a compatible switch
- 48 V/0.5 A passive PoE from the included adapter
- Centralized control
Omada Cloud, hardware or software controllers provide zero-touch provisioning, monitoring and multi-site management.

Mounted two of these on the perimeter of our compound in Karen and the coverage is superb. Wi-Fi 6 handles the many devices without breaking a sweat.

The IP67 rating is the real deal—it’s survived heavy Nairobi rains without a glitch. Setup via the Omada controller was straightforward, though I’d recommend watching a tutorial first if you’re new to it.

Ex-stock and delivered same week. Solid build.

We installed this on the veranda of our guesthouse in Diani to cover the garden and pool area. The AX1800 throughput is genuinely impressive—guests stream and video-call without complaints even when the place is full. The outdoor housing feels robust, and the mounting bracket was easy to work with. My only gripe is that the PoE injector isn’t included, so factor that in. Otherwise, it’s been running a month with zero downtime.

Good AP for the price point, and the outdoor coverage reaches our parking lot well. I gave it four stars because the initial firmware update took a bit longer than expected, but it’s been stable since.
