Description
BE9300 Tri-Band Wireless Router for Multi-Gigabit Networks
The TP-Link Archer BE550 is a BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router that aggregates 9214 Mbps across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. It carries six spatial streams and a 320 MHz channel in the 6 GHz band. Five 2.5G ports remove the Gigabit bottleneck on wired links.
The 6 GHz band reaches 5760 Mbps, the 5 GHz band 2880 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz band 574 Mbps. Multi-Link Operation lets compatible clients aggregate two bands at once. 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs raise spectral efficiency, while OFDMA and 2×2 MU-MIMO serve dense client groups without airtime contention.
Six internal antennas with beamforming and high-power FEM hold coverage across a four-bedroom footprint. The unit runs in router or access point mode and joins an EasyMesh fabric with compatible extenders. HomeShield handles firewall, intrusion prevention and IoT protection. A 12 V 3.3 A adapter powers the chassis at 76 x 231.7 x 203 mm.
Key Features
Wi-Fi 7 Tri-Band Radio Chain
Six streams across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz deliver 9214 Mbps of combined physical rate.Five 2.5G Ethernet Ports
- One 2.5 Gbps WAN port for multi-gigabit internet services
- Four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports with 5 Gbps aggregation
- One USB 3.0 port for storage and media services
Multi-Link Operation
Compatible clients transmit over two bands simultaneously to cut latency and raise throughput.320 MHz Channel Support
Doubles channel width against 160 MHz Wi-Fi 6 designs in the 6 GHz band.Beamforming and High-Power FEM
Directs signal energy to active clients and raises transmit power at the antenna.EasyMesh Interoperability
Pairs with EasyMesh nodes to form one SSID across a larger floor plan.VPN Server and Client Suite
Supports OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard in both server and client roles.IoT Network Segmentation
Runs smart-home devices on a separate SSID with restricted access to the main LAN.

Why Choose the Archer BE550
The BE9300 tri-band router pairs a 6 GHz backhaul with five multi-gig ports for wired backbones above 1 Gbps.
MLO and 4K-QAM reduce airtime overhead when dozens of clients share the same channel.
HomeShield adds intrusion prevention and IoT isolation without a separate security appliance.
The 2.5G WAN port matches modern fibre and DOCSIS 3.1 service tiers.
EasyMesh support extends coverage with additional nodes while keeping one management interface.

I bought this mainly for the 2.5G WAN port since our ISP finally gave us a faster line. The router handles it without breaking a sweat, and the Wi-Fi 7 backhaul to the mesh node in the garage is noticeably better than the Wi-Fi 6 kit we had. Setup was straightforward, though the app pushed a firmware update that took a good ten minutes. Only wish the wall bracket was included in the box rather than sold separately. Still, a proper upgrade for a home office that keeps growing.

Runs warm but stable. I run it in a two-storey townhouse in Kileleshwa and the tri-band coverage reaches the upstairs bedrooms without a repeater. Good buy.

Delivery was quick and the unit came sealed. Only issue is that my older laptop caps at Wi-Fi 5 so I am not seeing the full BE9300 speeds yet, but the phones and the newer TV box connect fine. Worth it for the multi-gig port alone.

Swapped out an old AC router in our Westlands office and the 6 GHz band sorted the congestion straight away. Twenty-odd devices on the 5 GHz floor now hold steady during video calls. Setup through the app took about fifteen minutes.
