Description
Dual-Band Mesh Kit for Multi-Room Wireless Coverage
The TP-Link Deco X50 is an AX3000 dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system supplied as a two-unit kit. Each node delivers 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz at HE160 and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The pair covers up to 450 m² and supports more than 150 concurrent clients.
Each unit carries three Gigabit Ethernet ports with WAN/LAN auto-sensing, so one port can feed a modem and the others accept wired clients. Internal antennas handle beamforming and BSS colouring. The system runs in router or access point mode and supports optional Ethernet backhaul between nodes.
Wi-Fi 6 features include 2×2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA and 1024-QAM. WPA3-Personal encryption is available alongside WPA2. HomeShield provides an SPI firewall, access control, IoT protection and parental controls. Setup runs through the Deco app, and the nodes respond to Alexa voice commands.
Key Features
AX3000 Dual-Band Throughput
The 5 GHz radio reaches 2402 Mbps at 160 MHz channel width, while the 2.4 GHz radio carries 574 Mbps for legacy and IoT clients.Two-Node Mesh Coverage
The kit links both units into one SSID with AI-driven mesh, and optional Ethernet backhaul bypasses the wireless hop between nodes.Three Gigabit Ports per Unit
WAN/LAN auto-sensing assigns the uplink port automatically, leaving two ports free for switches, access points or wired workstations.Wi-Fi 6 Efficiency Features
- 2×2 MU-MIMO serves multiple clients on the same radio simultaneously.
- OFDMA splits channels into resource units for dense device populations.
- 1024-QAM raises spectral efficiency on compatible clients.
HomeShield Network Security
The built-in SPI firewall, malicious site blocker, intrusion prevention and DDoS protection run at the gateway node without a separate appliance.

Quick installation guide
Why Choose the Deco X50 Kit
The two-node AX3000 mesh kit removes dead zones across multi-floor premises without cabling every room.
Gigabit auto-sensing ports on each node support wired backhaul and local switching at the same time.
WPA3 encryption and HomeShield intrusion prevention harden the wireless edge for small offices.
AI-driven mesh re-optimises channel selection as neighbouring networks and client loads change.
The Deco app centralises SSID, guest network, parental control and firmware management for both nodes.

Simple to set up and reliable. I was worried about compatibility with my ISP router, but putting it in access point mode worked fine. Signal is strong throughout the house now.

Works as advertised. The units are small and don’t clutter the house. I like that each has three gigabit ports, so I wired my TV and console directly. Coverage in the garden is decent too.

We installed this in our office and the difference is clear. Video calls no longer drop when moving between rooms. The dual-band AX3000 handles our 15 devices without strain. Delivery from Nairobi was quick.

Good mesh system for the price. Wi-Fi 6 speed is noticeable on my laptop. One unit in the sitting room and one upstairs, and roaming between them is smooth. Only issue is the app sometimes logs me out.

The 2-pack covers my three-bedroom flat well. I get strong signal in the bedroom that used to be a dead zone. Setup via the Deco app took about 15 minutes. The 3 gigabit ports on each unit are handy for my TV and desktop.
