Description
Replacement mixer gear for Toshiba developer units
The Toshiba 6LJ76586000 gear-mixer-2 is the second mixer gear in the developer drive train of several Toshiba e-STUDIO copiers. It meshes with gear-mixer-1 and the developer idler gear to turn the mixer augers inside the developer unit. The gear transfers torque from the drive motor to the mixing shaft, which keeps toner and carrier evenly blended.
The component fits the e-STUDIO 2323AM, 2329A, 2523A, 2523AD, 2823AM and 2829A series. It also serves the 2303A, 2309A, 2809A, 2303AM, 2803AM, 2802A, 2802AM and 2802AF chassis. The gear is a moulded part with a keyed bore that seats on the mixer shaft. It ships as a single unit and replaces the worn original without modifying the developer housing.
Worn mixer gears produce uneven toner concentration, which shows as background on prints or as density variation across the page. A cracked or stripped gear can stop the mixer entirely, and the machine then reports a developer-related error. Replacement restores agitation and returns the developer unit to normal operation. Inspect the mating gears at the same time, because wear usually spreads across the train.
The gear mounts on the developer unit drive shaft and is retained by the adjacent gear and bearing. Remove the developer unit from the machine before disassembly, and follow the service manual torque and alignment procedure. Clean toner residue from the shaft and housing before fitting the new part. Confirm that the gear rotates freely and that the augers turn with the drive coupling before reinstalling the unit.
