Description
DEET-Based Protection for Outdoor and Indoor Use
The Tabard mosquito repellent aerosol delivers 150 mg/g DEET in a 70 g pressurised tin can. It repels mosquitoes, gnats, sandflies, fleas and ticks for up to eight hours after application. The ozone-friendly propellant blends butane and propane at a 20:80 ratio.
The formulation carries 15% DEET by weight. Can pressure sits near 430 kPa at 25°C. Density ranges from 0.79 to 0.96 g/cm³ at 20°C, and pH runs 8.5 to 9.5. The LPG propellant has a flash point of 60°C and an autoignition temperature of 405°C. Store the can below 25°C to avoid decomposition.
Spray from 15 to 20 cm over exposed skin. Avoid eyes, broken skin and areas of flexion. Reapply after swimming or heavy sweating. The 70 g can measures roughly 18 x 5 x 5 cm and weighs about 0.2 kg with packaging, which suits a pocket or daypack.
The aerosol is flammable. Do not pierce or incinerate the can, and keep it away from ignition sources. Use in a ventilated area and keep out of reach of children. Dispose of the empty can through household aerosol recycling. The product is manufactured in South Africa under Medicines Control Council accreditation.
