The shaft runs 200 mm from tip to hook, which gives enough buried length to resist lateral pull in firm ground. A formed hook at the top captures guy rope up to 6 mm diameter. The 5 mm shaft diameter resists bending under moderate wind load without adding bulk to the peg bag.

Drive each anchor at a 45-degree angle away from the tent wall so the load pulls against the buried shaft. Use a mallet on the hook shoulder, not the shaft, to avoid deforming the top. Withdraw with a peg extractor or a hook pull. Store the set dry to limit surface corrosion between trips.

The five-pack covers a standard four-person tent footprint with one spare anchor. Each peg weighs approximately 35 g, so the full set adds about 175 g to a pack. The plain steel finish suits dry-climate camping, and a light oil coat after wet trips extends service life.
