UACC-CM-RJ45-MG Copper Module
The Ubiquiti multi-gig module model UACC-CM-RJ45-MG converts an SFP+ cage on supported UniFi equipment into a copper RJ45 port that negotiates 10 GbE, 5 GbE, 2.5 GbE, or 1 GbE links. Network engineers use it when a fiber transceiver is unnecessary and the upstream device already speaks Ethernet over twisted pair. This accessory is not a switch; it is a pluggable media converter that rides inside an existing SFP+ slot.
Multi-gigabit negotiation matters on modern access switches where Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points can exceed 1 Gbps throughput. A 10 GbE SFP+ port with this copper module lets you attach a multi-gig capable AP or NAS without running separate fiber drops. The module follows the compact SFP+ form factor, so installation is a slide-in replacement for optical transceivers during upgrades or lab builds.
Compatibility depends on the host switch or gateway accepting third-party or Ubiquiti-certified copper modules in that slot. Verify your hardware revision supports the UACC-CM-RJ45-MG before ordering spares. Cable quality still governs reach: Cat6A is recommended for 10 GbE runs, while shorter Cat6 links may negotiate down to 5 GbE or 2.5 GbE when distance or plant conditions require it.
