Description
SC-LC OS2 Patch Cord
The OEM OS2 Patch Cord facilitates high-speed data transmission over long distances in enterprise networks. This fiber optic jumper utilizes 9/125 micron single-mode glass. It supports 10G, 40G, and 100G Ethernet applications. The SC to LC configuration allows interfacing between legacy hardware and modern high-density switches. Each connector features an Ultra Physical Contact (UPC) polish to minimize back reflections. The assembly meets TIA-568.3-D standards for optical fiber cabling components. This ensures reliable performance in backbone and horizontal distribution environments. The yellow jacket follows standard color coding for single-mode identification. This helps technicians quickly distinguish fiber types in congested racks.
Key Features
Precision Ceramic Ferrules
Zirconia ceramic ferrules provide exact core alignment to maintain signal integrity across multiple connections.Low Attenuation Glass
- G.652.D compliant glass eliminates the hydroxyl ion water peak.
- Attenuation remains under 0.35dB/km at 1310nm for long-reach efficiency.
Flame Retardant Jacket
The Low Smoke Zero Halogen construction reduces hazardous emissions in the event of a fire.Duplex Configuration
- Two fibers joined by a zipcord web allow for simultaneous bidirectional data flow.
- Removable clips on the LC end permit easy polarity reversal when required.
Signal attenuation remains under 0.35 dB/km at 1310nm. It stays under 0.22 dB/km at 1550nm. The G.652.D glass type eliminates the water peak. This allows operation across the entire E-band spectrum. Every unit undergoes 100% optical testing for insertion loss and return loss. Technicians receive a test report with each batch. Additionally, the 2.0mm jacket provides flexibility for routing through cable management trays. It withstands a minimum bend radius of 30mm. This prevents macro-bend losses. The operating temperature range spans from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. The aramid yarn strength member protects the glass during installation pulls. It provides a tensile load capacity of 100N. The SC connector housing uses a standard 2.5mm ferrule. The LC end uses a 1.25mm ferrule. This transition enables connectivity between different hardware generations. Each connector includes a protective dust cap. These caps prevent contamination of the polished end-face. Contamination is the primary cause of link failure in fiber networks. The UPC finish creates a slightly domed surface. This ensures physical contact between fiber cores. It reduces the air gap that causes Fresnel reflections. This patch cord maintains stability over 500 mating cycles. The manufacturing process adheres to RoHS and REACH environmental standards.

Why Choose SC-LC OS2 Assemblies
High Return Loss: UPC polishing reduces back reflections to protect sensitive transceiver lasers.
Small Form Factor Integration: LC connectors provide high port density for modern network switches.
Broadband Performance: ITU-T G.652.D glass ensures consistent transmission across the full optical spectrum.
Environmental Safety: Low Smoke Zero Halogen jackets comply with strict fire safety regulations in public spaces.

I ordered a batch of these for a fiber-to-the-office project in Upper Hill. The OS2 single mode performance is stable, and the UPC finish on the ferrules is quite clean. I tested the light levels after installation and they are well within the expected range. No issues with the latching mechanism on the LC side, which can sometimes be a problem with generic cables. These are solid.

The SC to LC connectors are well-terminated. We used these for a cross-connect in our server room and the attenuation is very low. Good quality for OEM fiber; the connectors click in securely without any play.

Delivery was fast and the cables were well packaged. The length is accurate and the yellow jacket is flexible enough for tight bends in the cabinet. Good buy if you need performance on a budget.

Reasonable price for OS2 single mode. Does the job well for our small office setup in Westlands.
