Description
Solar-Powered Surface Pump for Off-Grid Water Supply
The DQB3-50-48-550 solar surface pump is a brushless DC centrifugal pump designed for off-grid water transfer, irrigation and household supply. It runs directly from a solar array through the supplied MPPT controller. The pump delivers a maximum flow of 3 m³/h and a maximum head of 50 metres. A 1-inch by 1-inch outlet matches standard pipe fittings.
The brushless motor operates at 48 V DC and draws 550 W at full load. The MPPT controller tracks the solar array’s maximum power point, which lifts daily water yield compared with a direct-coupled pump. The controller accepts an open-circuit voltage up to 100 V, so two 36-cell panels in series sit within the input window. A dry-run protection circuit stops the motor when the water source runs low.
The pump body uses corrosion-resistant materials for outdoor installation. Its surface-mount format suits a concrete plinth beside a tank, dam or borehole head. The controller carries an IP65 enclosure rating, which allows mounting on an exposed wall or pump house. Cable glands seal the DC input and motor output against dust and rain.
Install the pump close to the water source and keep the suction line as short as possible. Fit a foot valve to hold prime and a strainer to keep debris out of the impeller. Size the solar array above the pump’s 550 W draw to cover controller losses and low-light mornings. Use DC-rated cable and a breaker on the array side for safe isolation during service.
Check the pump strainer weekly in dirty water and clear any silt build-up. Inspect the controller heatsink for dust and confirm the DC connections stay tight. Do not run the pump dry, because the brushless motor depends on water flow for cooling. Drain the pump body before frost and store the controller indoors if the installation is seasonal.
Key Features
Brushless DC Motor
The brushless design cuts brush wear and holds efficiency across the pump’s operating range.MPPT Pump Controller
- Tracks the solar array’s maximum power point for higher daily yield
- Accepts open-circuit voltage up to 100 V
- IP65 enclosure suits exposed outdoor mounting
- Dry-run protection stops the motor on low water
3 m³/h Maximum Flow
The pump moves up to 3 cubic metres per hour at open discharge.50 m Maximum Head
The head rating covers tank filling, overhead storage and pressurised lines.1-Inch Outlet
The 1-inch by 1-inch port matches standard threaded pipe and hose fittings.Surface-Mount Format
The pump sits on a plinth beside the water source rather than inside a borehole.Corrosion-Resistant Body
The housing materials tolerate outdoor installation and intermittent water contact.

Why Choose This Solar Pump
The brushless motor removes brush replacement from the service schedule.
The MPPT controller lifts daily water output from a given solar array.
Dry-run protection guards the pump when the source runs low.
The 50 m head rating covers overhead tanks and pressurised distribution lines.
An IP65 controller survives rain and dust on exposed outdoor walls.
The 1-inch outlet connects to common poly and galvanised pipe fittings.
