Description
Wired Network Uplink for USB-Only Machines
The Vention CEWHB Ethernet adapter turns a USB 3.0 Type-A port into an RJ45 Gigabit socket. The AX88179A controller negotiates 10, 100, or 1000Mbps links automatically. A 0.15m cable separates the USB plug from the port housing.
Aluminum alloy encloses the controller board and spreads heat away from the AX88179A die. Nickel-plated contacts resist wear across repeated insertions, and a PVC jacket absorbs strain at the cable entry. A single LED reports link and activity state.
The unit draws bus power from the host port and needs no external supply. Drivers load automatically on Windows 8 and later, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. Deploy it on ultrabooks, desktops with failed NICs, TV boxes, and consoles.
Key Features
AX88179A Controller
ASIX silicon handles Gigabit framing and checksum offload over the USB 3.0 bus at 5Gbps.10/100/1000Mbps Auto-Negotiation
The PHY detects link partner capability and settles on the highest common rate without manual configuration.Aluminum Alloy Housing
- Metal shell conducts heat away from the controller during sustained transfers
- Rigid body resists flex damage inside laptop bags
Nickel-Plated USB Type-A Plug
Plating limits oxidation on the contacts and holds insertion force over repeated mating cycles.Strain-Relief Cable Entry
A moulded tail section and PVC jacket reduce conductor fatigue where the cord meets the shell.Link and Activity LED
The indicator shows connection state and traffic without opening the operating system network panel.Bus-Powered Operation
The adapter takes current from the host port, so field kits carry no additional power brick.Driver-Free Deployment
Windows 8, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS enumerate the device as a standard CDC-ECM or vendor NIC.

What’s in the Box
Vention CEWHB USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet adapter
Quick start documentation
Why Choose the CEWHB
The USB to RJ45 adapter gives thin-and-light laptops a wired path where the chassis has no native port.
A Gigabit network adapter removes Wi-Fi contention in meeting rooms and shared floors.
The AX88179A adapter ships with mature drivers across Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions.
An aluminum shell keeps the RJ45 adapter cool during long file copies and backups.
At 74.59 g, the USB Ethernet converter adds negligible weight to a travel kit.
Bus power means technicians can deploy the wired network dongle without spare outlets.

Slim and well built. Does exactly what it says on the box.
Joseph Maina (verified owner) –
Bought two for our reception and accounts desks. Both work fine with the wired network and have not dropped connection during weeks of use. The USB 3.0 plug heats up slightly but not enough to worry about.
Anne Muthoni (verified owner) –
Works well with my MacBook Air that has no Ethernet port. Transfer speeds are close to the full gigabit on our LAN.
Fredrick Ochieng (verified owner) –
Good adapter for the price but the 0.15m cable is very short. If your USB port is awkwardly placed behind a desktop tower you may need an extension cable.
Nancy Wairimu (verified owner) –
Our office Wi-Fi is unreliable during peak hours and this adapter solved the problem. The aluminium body feels solid and the short cable keeps it neat on the desk. Driver was not needed on Windows 11, it just worked. Delivery to our offices in Westlands was quick.
Elijah Kimani (verified owner) –
Plugged it into my laptop and it picked up the network immediately. Gigabit speeds confirmed in the office.
