USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Converter for Legacy and Mobile Hosts
The Vention CEGBB Ethernet adapter adds a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port to notebooks, tablets and desktops that lack a native network jack. It uses the Realtek RTL8152 controller over a USB 2.0 Type-A link. The 0.15 m cable keeps the dongle close to the host during transport.
The unit negotiates 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet links at full and half duplex. USB 2.0 carries up to 480 Mbps of host bandwidth, which exceeds the 100 Mbps line rate. Gold-plated contacts on the USB-A plug and RJ45 socket resist oxidation in humid rooms.
The bus-powered design draws current from the host USB port and needs no external supply. An onboard LED reports link and activity state. ABS housing, aluminium foil shielding and 28 AWG tinned-copper conductors handle daily office handling. Driver support covers Windows, macOS, Linux and Android without manual installation.
