Description
Scalable Mesh Coverage for Multi-Room Networks
The TP-Link Deco M5 is a three-unit AC1300 mesh system that replaces a single router and range extender with one unified wireless network. Each node carries a dual-band radio and two Gigabit ports, so wired backhaul stays available where cabling allows. The kit covers homes up to 5,500 square feet across three to five bedrooms.
The 5 GHz band runs 802.11ac at 867 Mbit/s, and the 2.4 GHz band delivers 400 Mbit/s on 802.11n. Four internal antennas per node combine with beamforming and MU-MIMO to serve more than 100 concurrent clients. A quad-core Qualcomm processor and 256 MB of RAM handle routing, NAT and mesh steering.
Each unit measures 120 mm in diameter and 38 mm high, and draws power over a USB Type-C port from the supplied 12 V adapter. The system operates between 0 °C and 40 °C and ships with CE, FCC and IC certification. TP-Link HomeCare adds SPI firewall rules, WPA2 encryption, parental controls and antivirus at the gateway.
Key Features
Dual-Band AC1300 Radio
Each node offers 867 Mbit/s on 5 GHz and 400 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz for a combined 1267 Mbit/s PHY rate.Four Internal Antennas with Beamforming
- Per-unit antenna array concentrates signal toward active clients
- MU-MIMO serves multiple devices on the same band at once
Two Gigabit Ports per Unit
WAN/LAN auto-sensing on both RJ45 ports supports router mode or Ethernet backhaul.HomeCare Security Suite
Parental controls, content filtering, antivirus and QoS run on the gateway without a separate subscription.

Why Choose Deco M5
Single SSID roaming switches clients between nodes in under 0.3 seconds.
The AC1300 mesh kit pairs wireless backhaul with optional Ethernet backhaul for lower latency.
Adaptive path selection and self-healing reroute traffic when one node drops.
Two Gigabit ports per node give the 3-pack mesh router wired capacity for consoles, NAS and desk PCs.
The Deco app handles setup, guest networks and firmware updates over the air.
