Description
Fast Ethernet Expansion for Small Wired Networks
The TP-Link TL-SF1005D adds five 10/100Mbps RJ45 ports to a home or small-office wired network. Each port auto-negotiates link speed and supports Auto MDI/MDIX, so straight-through and crossover cables both work.
Five auto-sensing ports run at 10 or 100Mbps in half or full duplex. Full duplex pushes per-port throughput to 200Mbps. A non-blocking store-and-forward architecture forwards and filters packets at wire speed, and IEEE 802.3x flow control plus back pressure limit congestion during bursts.
A fanless plastic chassis measures 103.5 x 70 x 22 mm and sits on a desk without added noise. The external 5.0VDC/0.6A adapter draws a maximum 1.48W, and Green Ethernet technology cuts consumption by up to 68% on short or idle links.
Typical roles include splitting one wall port into four, linking a printer and NAS beside a desk, or extending a branch LAN behind a router. The unit needs no IP address or management login and starts forwarding as soon as power and cables connect.
Key Features
Five Auto-Negotiating Ports
Each RJ45 port senses 10 or 100Mbps and adjusts duplex mode without manual configuration.Auto MDI/MDIX on Every Port
Crossover cables and dedicated uplink ports become unnecessary because the switch detects cable pinout automatically.Non-Blocking Store-and-Forward
The switch forwards and filters frames at wire speed and buffers bursts with a 10 KB jumbo frame allowance.Green Ethernet Power Savings
Link-state and cable-length detection reduce power draw by up to 68%, with maximum consumption at 1.48W.Fanless Desktop Chassis
The plastic housing runs silent and measures 103.5 x 70 x 22 mm for shelf or desk placement.Plug-and-Play Deployment
- No IP address, VLAN, or management interface to configure
- Works with any 10/100Mbps NIC, printer, or access point
- Front-panel LEDs show link and activity per port

Installation guide
Why Choose TL-SF1005D
Five ports expand a single wall drop into a small workgroup without a managed device.
Auto-sensing electronics remove cable-type errors during fast desktop rollouts.
1.48W peak draw keeps branch power budgets low and heat output minimal.
Silent fanless operation suits reception desks, kiosks, and shared offices.
Store-and-forward buffering protects frame integrity on congested uplinks.
