Description
Torque-Controlled Expansion Anchor
The Rawlbolt M12 anchor is a three-piece expanding shield anchor supplied with a loose hex bolt for through-fixture fixing. It seats in a 20 mm substrate hole and expands as the bolt tightens to 50 Nm. Zinc-plated steel construction suits indoor and sheltered outdoor structural connections.
The M12/10W variant measures 90 mm overall and accepts a fixture up to 10 mm thick. Its 20 mm external sleeve diameter generates a large contact area against the bore wall. Installation requires an 85 mm minimum hole depth and an 80 mm minimum anchor embedment. A 19 mm wrench drives the bolt, and the minimum substrate thickness is 100 mm.
Three pressed-steel segments expand uniformly under torque. The design tolerates minor variations in drilled hole diameter, which helps on site where percussion bits wear. ETA-11/0479 covers torque-controlled expansion in cracked and non-cracked concrete from C20/25 to C50/60. The anchor also seats in hollow-core slab, concrete hollow floor blocks and high-density natural stone after site testing.
Use the assembly for steelwork, barriers, doors, gates, machinery repairs, sanitary installations and pipework supports. The loose-bolt format allows the shield to be set before the fixture is offered up. Remove the bolt and washer, drive the shield flush, then pass the bolt through the fixture and torque to specification. The plated finish resists handling corrosion before installation.
Key Features
Three-Piece Expanding Sleeve
Pressed steel segments spread evenly inside the bore to spread load across the substrate.Loose Bolt Through-Fixing
- Shield sets independently of the fixture
- Bolt and washer pass through the mounted item after the shield is seated
- Suits steelwork, brackets and machine bases
ETA-11/0479 Approval
Covers torque-controlled expansion in cracked and non-cracked concrete C20/25 to C50/60.50 Nm Installation Torque
The specified torque drives the taper nut and locks the sleeve against the bore wall.Zinc-Plated Steel Body
Yellow passivated plating limits handling corrosion before and during installation.Broad Substrate Range
Seats in concrete, hollow-core slab, flooring blocks and high-density natural stone after testing.

Why Choose This Shield Anchor
The through-bolt format lets installers set the shield before lifting the fixture into place.
The 20 mm sleeve expands against the bore to carry shear and tension loads in concrete.
ETA approval supports specification on structural steelwork and safety barriers.
A 50 Nm torque setting gives a repeatable installation check with a calibrated wrench.
Zinc plating protects the assembly during site storage and handling.
