Duplex Multimode Jumper for 10G Short-Reach Links
The OM3 SC APC cord is a duplex multimode assembly with angled-physical-contact SC connectors at both ends. It uses laser-optimized 50/125 µm glass and a 3.0 mm LSZH jacket. Factory termination supports 10 Gbps Ethernet runs up to 300 m at 850 nm.
Each connector uses a zirconia ferrule ground to an 8° APC end face. Angled contact reduces back reflection to 30 dB or better on a mated pair. Insertion loss stays at or below 0.3 dB per connection. The duplex clip holds the two SC bodies at fixed centre spacing for single-action mating.
The cable operates across 850 nm and 1300 nm windows. A tight-buffered aramid yarn layer carries tensile load, and the LSZH sheath limits smoke and halogen output in enclosed rooms. Installers route the 3.0 mm cord through cabinets and patch panels with a 20 mm static bend radius.
