Description

Convertible Ultrabook with Thunderbolt 3

The HP Spectre x360 13-ap pairs a 13.3-inch FHD IPS touch panel with a 360-degree hinge and an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U processor. HP builds the chassis from aluminium and rates the unit at 1.33 kg. Two Thunderbolt 3 ports carry power, display output and data.

The panel runs 1920 × 1080 at 166 PPI behind Corning Gorilla Glass NBT and a micro-edge bezel. Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the internal display and external monitors. Memory is 8 GB DDR4-2400 soldered to the board, and storage is a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

A 61 Wh four-cell battery supports up to 22 hours 30 minutes of mixed use on HP’s rating. The 65 W USB-C adapter recharges through either Thunderbolt port. Intel Wireless-AC 9560 provides 2×2 Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5, and a microSD reader sits on the chassis edge.

Key Features

  • 360-Degree Convertible Hinge
The dual-torque hinge rotates the panel through laptop, stand, tent and tablet positions for annotation or presentation work.

  • Dual Thunderbolt 3 Ports

    • Two USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 ports run Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2 and Power Delivery 3.0.
    • Either port accepts the 65 W adapter, and one port drives a 4K monitor at 60 Hz.
  • FHD IPS Touch Panel
The 13.3-inch display resolves 1920 × 1080 at 166 PPI with multi-touch input and active pen support.

  • 8th Gen Core i5-8265U
The quad-core Whiskey Lake processor runs eight threads from 1.6 GHz to 3.9 GHz with 6 MB of cache.

  • FHD IR Camera and Fingerprint Reader
An HP Wide Vision FHD IR camera with dual-array microphone supports Windows Hello face sign-in alongside the fingerprint sensor.

  • Quad Bang & Olufsen Speakers
Four speakers with HP Audio Boost 2.0 handle conference audio without external peripherals.

  • 61 Wh Battery and 65 W Charging
HP rates the four-cell pack at up to 22 hours 30 minutes of mixed usage and 21 hours 30 minutes of video playback.

Why Choose the Spectre Convertible

  • The 360-degree hinge and touch panel cover meeting notes, signature capture and client presentations on one device.

  • Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports consolidate charging, display output and external storage into a single dock connection.

  • The 1.33 kg aluminium chassis suits staff who carry the machine between sites.

  • Soldered memory keeps the board thin, so plan the 8 GB ceiling at procurement time.

  • Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 match the access points still common in East African offices.

Clear filters
  1. Faith Muthoni (verified owner) –

The gem-cut edges make this thing look premium, and the 512GB SSD is generous for a convertible. I use it mostly in tent mode for client presentations and the touchscreen responds well. Was out of stock when I first checked but worth the wait.

  2. Peter Njoroge (verified owner) –

The i5-8265U with 8GB handles my office workload comfortably — spreadsheets, email and a dozen browser tabs. Keyboard is comfortable for its size. Battery gives me about six hours of mixed use.

  3. Nancy Wairimu (verified owner) –

Solid 2-in-1 for travel. Light enough to carry all day and the FHD panel is sharp for its size. Only gripe is that the 8GB memory is soldered, so there’s no upgrade path.
