Spring-Loaded Retractable Vehicle Shade

The Eezi-Awn 2000 awning green mounts to a roof rack and unrolls into a 2.0 m by 2.1 m shaded footprint. A factory-tensioned spring retracts the canopy back into its case. Two people deploy or stow the unit in under a minute without tools.

The canopy uses 260 gsm ripstop polyester canvas with a Teflon coating. The fabric carries a waterproof treatment and resists staining and mildew during long storage intervals. An extruded anodised aluminium case seals the rolled canvas away from road debris and UV exposure.

Support arms and legs are anodised aluminium, which resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments. Telescopic legs adjust from 1,200 mm to 2,300 mm to suit uneven ground. The closed case measures 2,000 x 115 x 100 mm and the complete 2.0 m unit weighs about 14 kg.

Fitting kits are available for most roof racks and vehicle profiles. A RecVee panel set attaches to the awning for added wind and rain protection. The spring mechanism needs no lubrication beyond occasional paraffin wax on the sliding arms.
