Description

Rack-Mount PoE Distribution for Cameras and Access Points

The Cudy GS1018PS2 switch provides sixteen Gigabit PoE+ ports plus two Gigabit uplink ports and two SFP slots. It supplies up to 30 W per port from a 300 W budget. The metal chassis mounts in a standard 19-inch rack.

Each downlink port supports IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at Mode A power. The switching fabric handles 40 Gbps with a forwarding rate of 29.76 Mpps. A 2048-entry MAC table and 3 Mbit packet buffer serve small and mid-size networks.

A DIP switch selects Default or Extend mode. Extend mode stretches ports 9 through 16 to 250 m at 10 Mbps for distant cameras. The same ports can enable VLAN isolation to separate downlink traffic. Watchdog mode reboots unresponsive PoE clients after five minutes.

Key Features

  • 16× Gigabit PoE+ Ports
Each downlink port delivers up to 30 W under 802.3at and negotiates 802.3af for older devices.

  • 300 W Total Power Budget
The internal supply allocates power across all PoE ports without an external injector.

  • 2× Gigabit Uplink + 2× SFP
Two RJ45 uplinks and two 1.25G SFP slots connect the switch to a core network or fiber link.

  • Extend and VLAN Modes
A front DIP switch enables 250 m reach on ports 9–16 or isolates downlink traffic.

  • Watchdog Recovery
The switch pings PoE clients and power-cycles any device that stops responding for five minutes.

  • Metal Rack-Mount Chassis
The 1U metal case includes brackets for 19-inch racks and operates from 0 °C to 40 °C.

Clear filters
  1. Susan Adhiambo (verified owner) –

Ordered two units for our campus access points and they arrived in good time. Ports auto-negotiate gigabit correctly and the fan noise is low enough for a comms room. Would have given 5 stars if the management interface were more intuitive, but it does the job once configured.

  2. Kevin Mutua (verified owner) –

Solid 16-port PoE switch. Powers our VoIP phones and access points without any issues.

  3. Michael Njoroge (verified owner) –

Deployed this for a client’s CCTV setup running 14 PoE cameras. The 300W budget handles all of them comfortably and the two SFP slots let us uplink back to the core switch on fibre. Stable since installation.
