Description
Handheld Continuity Tester for Four Cable Types
The 4-in-1 cable tester checks RJ45, RJ11, USB and BNC assemblies for continuity, opens, shorts and crossed pairs. One button starts each test, and seven conductor LEDs step through the pins in sequence. A detachable remote terminator plugs into the far end of installed wiring.
Four ports sit on the top face: RJ45 for Cat5e and Cat6 LAN leads, RJ11 for two to six conductor telephone cords, USB Type-A to Type-B, and BNC for coaxial runs. Shielded and unshielded LAN cable both test, and the shield path reports separately from the signal conductors.
A 9 V alkaline battery powers the unit, and auto power-off protects the cell between jobs. The ABS housing measures 144 x 86 x 25 mm and weighs 155 g without the battery. A beeper confirms results audibly when the LED bank sits out of sight at the far end of a run.
