Description
Serial ATA III Drive Link Cable
The Vention KDDRD SATA connects a 7-pin SATA host controller to a 7-pin storage device over a 0.5-metre run. It carries data at up to 6Gbps and supports SATA III, II and I devices. The red PVC jacket eases identification inside a chassis.
Each end terminates in a straight 7-pin male connector with gold-plated contacts. Tinned-copper conductors in 26AWG and 28AWG gauges keep signal loss low across the short span. Aluminium foil shielding blocks electromagnetic interference from nearby power rails and fans.
The cable suits 2.5-inch SSDs, 3.5-inch hard drives, optical drives and port multipliers. It fits tight drive bays because the 0.5-metre length removes excess slack. Installers use it for desktop repairs, NAS builds and bench test rigs. The straight plugs seat fully in backplane and motherboard ports without bending the drive connector.
Key Features
6Gbps SATA III Throughput
Moves data at up to 6Gbps and remains backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I ports.Gold-Plated 7-Pin Contacts
Gold plating over 15µ reduces contact resistance and resists corrosion through repeated mating cycles.Tinned-Copper Conductors
26AWG and 28AWG stranded copper cores carry the differential signal with low attenuation.Aluminium Foil Shielding
The foil layer blocks high-frequency noise from switching power supplies and adjacent cables.0.5-Metre Red Jacket
The short PVC jacket keeps cable routing tidy in small-form-factor cases and test benches.Straight Male Connectors
Both ends use straight 7-pin SATA plugs that seat fully in backplane and motherboard ports.Latching Connector Body
- Moulded latch tabs secure the plug against vibration
- Release tab allows tool-free drive swaps
- Keyed housing prevents reversed insertion
Wide Device Compatibility
Works with SATA hard drives, solid-state drives, optical drives and SATA port multipliers.

What’s in the Box
1 x KDDRD SATA 3.0 cable, 0.5m, red
Why Choose KDDRD
A 6Gbps SATA lead with gold-plated contacts handles daily drive swaps in service benches.
Tinned copper and foil shielding maintain signal integrity over the short 0.5m run.
The red jacket speeds identification in crowded chassis and NAS enclosures.
Backward compatibility lets one cable serve SATA I, II and III drives.
The latching plug body keeps the link seated during transport and vibration.

Simple cable, does the job. I replaced an old SATA lead that was giving me intermittent drive dropouts on a desktop in Ruiru. The metal latches on this Vention one hold the connector tight against the drive and board. No issues after three weeks of daily use.

Bought two for a client’s POS terminal upgrade in Ngara. The red jacket makes it easy to trace which drive is connected when several cables run through the case. Data transfer has been stable at SATA 3 speeds.

Used this to connect a 2.5-inch SSD to the motherboard in a small office build. The 0.5m length is just right for a mid-tower case, no excess cable coiled up blocking airflow. Latches click in firmly on both ends.
