Description
Combined Gigabit Networking and USB Expansion
The USB 3.0 LAN Hub adds a Gigabit Ethernet port and three USB 3.0 Type-A ports from a single host connection. It uses the Realtek RTL8153 for the network side and a VIA VL812 or GL3510 hub controller for downstream ports. The compact housing measures 85 x 45 x 15 mm and weighs about 60 grams.
The RJ45 port negotiates 10/100/1000 Mbps and supports IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards. Auto-MDI/MDIX handles straight-through and crossover cables without manual selection. The three USB-A ports deliver up to 5 Gbps each and remain backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
The adapter draws power from the host USB bus, with typical consumption around 165 mA at 5 V when the Ethernet link is active. No external power adapter is required for standard loads. Driver support covers Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS through in-box or vendor-supplied drivers. Operating temperature spans 0 °C to 70 °C.
Key Features
Gigabit Ethernet via RTL8153
The Realtek RTL8153 controller supports 10/100/1000 Mbps links with hardware checksum offload.Three USB 3.0 Downstream Ports
Each Type-A port delivers up to 5 Gbps and supplies standard bus power to peripherals.Hub Controller Options
- VIA VL812 or GL3510 hub controller
- Supports USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 device fallback
- Overcurrent protection on downstream ports
Auto-MDI/MDIX Crossover Detection
The Ethernet PHY detects cable wiring and configures the pair assignment automatically.Bus-Powered Operation
The unit runs from the host port at roughly 165 mA and needs no wall adapter for normal loads.LED Status Indicators
Link and activity LEDs on the RJ45 port show connection state and traffic.Compact ABS Housing
The 85 x 45 x 15 mm body fits beside a laptop without blocking adjacent ports.

Why Choose This Combo Adapter
One host port delivers both wired networking and three extra USB peripherals.
The RTL8153 controller maintains Gigabit throughput without saturating the USB 3.0 bus.
Bus power removes the need for a separate adapter at the desk or on site.
Auto-crossover support simplifies connections to switches, routers and peer devices.
The compact body fits into a laptop bag alongside the host machine.
