Description
External Multi-Monitor Graphics Adapter
The USB 2.0 VGA adapter turns one free USB-A port into a 15-pin VGA output on a desktop or notebook. It runs on the DisplayLink DL-165 chipset and drives an added monitor without opening the chassis or fitting a discrete card. The housing measures 110 x 51 x 24 mm and carries a fixed 1 m USB lead.
The VGA connector is a standard 15-pin high-density female socket. Output reaches 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, with 1600 x 1200 and 1680 x 1050 also supported at 16-bit and 32-bit colour. A blue LED on the shell confirms link status. The unit draws power from the host bus and needs no external supply.
Windows detects the device through Windows Update, and macOS and ChromeOS take a vendor driver. Install one adapter per extra screen; a single host can carry up to six on Windows or four on macOS. Mirror and extend modes are both selectable, and the driver allows 0, 90, 180 and 270 degree rotation.
Key Features
DisplayLink DL-165 Chipset
The DL-165 controller converts the USB data stream into an analog VGA signal without host GPU assistance.Resolution and Colour Depth
- 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz for full HD panels
- 1600 x 1200 UXGA and 1680 x 1050 WSXGA+ modes
- 16-bit and 32-bit colour selection in the driver
Extend or Mirror Modes
The driver presents the second screen as an extension of the desktop or as a duplicate of the primary display.Rotation Support
Display orientation switches between 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees for portrait monitors and signage panels.Bus-Powered Operation
The adapter takes 5 V from the USB port, so a projector or monitor needs no separate power brick at the desk.Compact ABS Shell
The 110 x 51 x 24 mm body sits behind a monitor stand and clears adjacent ports on a laptop.Multi-Adapter Scaling
Each unit adds one display, and hosts accept up to six adapters on Windows or four on macOS.

Why Choose This Display Adapter
Adding a second panel through a spare USB port avoids a GPU purchase on sealed business notebooks.
The DL-165 controller keeps driver deployment simple because Windows Update carries the package.
Portrait rotation suits reception signage and document review on a vertical monitor.
Bus power removes one more adapter from a hot-desk kit and one more failure point.
Analog VGA output keeps older projectors and 4:3 panels in service during office refurbishment.
