Description
Two-Computer Peripheral Sharing Hub
The Ugreen US216 sharing switch shares four USB peripherals between two computers from one desktop enclosure. It provides two upstream USB-A inputs and four downstream USB-A outputs. A front-panel button selects the active host, so operators move keyboards, printers, scanners, and flash storage between systems without re-cabling.
Each port runs at USB 3.0 SuperSpeed rates up to 5Gbps and stays backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. The unit passes data only and carries no video signal, so it does not replace a KVM switch. Bus power from the host normally suffices; a micro-USB socket accepts a 5V 2A adapter when attached drives demand more current.
The ABS housing measures 105 × 53 × 16 mm and sits flat on a desk. Two 1.5m USB 3.0 cables ship in the box for the computer links. Keep the peripheral cable under 1.8m to hold signal integrity on high-bandwidth devices. Windows, macOS, and Linux hosts enumerate the box without driver installation.
Key Features
Two Upstream Host Ports
Two USB-A inputs accept one computer each, and only the selected host gains access to the downstream devices.Four Downstream USB-A Ports
Four outputs connect printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, card readers, and external drives.5Gbps SuperSpeed Throughput
The controller sustains USB 3.0 transfer rates across the shared link for external SSDs and high-resolution cameras.Manual Push-Button Selection
A physical button latches the active computer port, and the box does not switch automatically between hosts.Optional 5V Micro-USB Power Input
The auxiliary socket accepts a standard 5V 2A adapter when bus current cannot supply every attached device.Deployment Notes
- Keep the computer-to-switch cable run under 2m.
- Keep the device cable under 1.8m on high-bandwidth peripherals.
- Allocate one host at a time; the second computer waits until the button changes state.

Why Choose the US216
The two-in four-out layout removes duplicate peripherals from multi-PC desks and test benches.
USB 3.0 throughput keeps external SSDs and capture devices at full link speed.
The manual selector gives deterministic control during imaging and diagnostics work.
Driver-free enumeration simplifies rollout across mixed Windows, macOS, and Linux fleets.
The auxiliary 5V input supports bus-powered drives that would otherwise brown out.

We have two laptops sharing one printer and an external drive in the office. The button switch between the two inputs works cleanly and the drive shows up on whichever machine is selected. No reconnecting cables every time.
David Kipchumba (verified owner) –
Two inputs and four outputs is a useful arrangement for a small office where people hot-desk. We wired a printer, a scanner, a card reader, and a backup drive into it, and staff just press the button for their own laptop. The housing is metal and feels substantial. Only thing to watch is that USB devices get re-enumerated on each switch, which takes a couple of seconds but is normal for this kind of switch box.
Stephen Mwenda (verified owner) –
The four outputs are well spaced, so a USB drive doesn’t block the next port. Working well for sharing a printer between two workstations.
Caroline Mueni (verified owner) –
Does what it says. Switching is quick and the 5Gbps transfer speed is real — my SSD copy times are the same as direct connection.
Michael Onyango (verified owner) –
Works fine for my two desktop machines sharing a keyboard, mouse, and external SSD. The switch is a physical button rather than software, which is what I wanted. Would have preferred slightly longer host cables, but the unit itself performs reliably.
Jane Wanjiku (verified owner) –
Simple, reliable switch. No drivers needed and the button has a solid click. Good for shared peripherals.
Purity Nyokabi (verified owner) –
I bought this to stop crawling under my desk to move a USB cable between my work laptop and personal machine. Now one press and both keyboards and my drive follow the right PC. Build is solid, aluminium body. Transfer speeds are exactly as advertised. One limitation is that if both machines are powered on, the inactive one momentarily loses the devices — but that’s the nature of a sharing switch, not a fault. Delivery was timely and the box arrived sealed.
Hellen Moraa (verified owner) –
It gets warm with heavy use and the switch re-detects devices each time, so it won’t suit everyone. For a shared printer and scanner setup it’s been adequate, and build quality is clearly above the cheap plastic alternatives.
