Active USB Extension for Long Runs

The Ugreen US121 repeater cable carries USB 2.0 traffic between a host and a peripheral across a 10-metre run. An FE1.1s booster chip sits inside the female connector shell and regenerates the differential data pair. The assembly terminates in a USB-A male plug at one end and a USB-A female socket at the other.

Throughput holds at the USB 2.0 ceiling of 480 Mbps and falls back to USB 1.1 devices without configuration. The booster draws its current from the host bus, so the lead needs no external power adapter. Tinned oxygen-free copper conductors carry the signal pairs and limit resistive loss over the full length.

Double shielding combines an aluminium foil wrap with a braided metal layer to hold off EMI and RFI from nearby power supplies. A PVC and ABS overmould anchors each connector against pull strain. The 10 m span reaches printers, scanners, card readers and cameras across a room without an intermediate hub.

Plug-and-play operation needs no driver on Windows, macOS or Linux. Hot-swap support lets technicians move the attached device between hosts without rebooting either end.
