Description

External USB Audio Interface

The UGREEN CM129 sound adapter converts one USB-A port into three analogue audio interfaces. It provides a 3.5mm stereo headphone output, a 3.5mm mono microphone input, and a 4-pin TRRS combo jack. The combo port follows the CTIA pinout and accepts a headset with an integrated microphone.

An SSS1629 controller handles digital-to-analogue conversion at 16-bit resolution and 48kHz sampling. Signal-to-noise ratio reaches at least 85dB, and frequency response spans 20Hz to 20kHz. Round-trip latency measures 40 to 50ms, which suits voice calls, conferencing, and live monitoring.

The 15cm cable keeps the housing clear of adjacent ports on crowded laptops and mini PCs. Driver installation is unnecessary on Windows, macOS, and Linux hosts. Two hardware buttons adjust output volume and mute the microphone or headphones independently. A status LED confirms enumeration and activity.

Key Features

  • Triple 3.5mm Connectivity
Separate headphone, microphone, and CTIA combo jacks allow two headsets to run at the same time.

  • SSS1629 Audio Controller

    • 16-bit / 48kHz conversion with 85dB minimum SNR.
    • 20Hz to 20kHz response and 40–50ms latency.
    • Smart noise-reduction circuitry for clearer voice capture.
  • Hardware Volume and Mute Control
Physical buttons manage output level and cut the microphone or headphone channel without software.

  • Driver-Free Deployment
The USB audio adapter enumerates as a standard class device on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

  • Compact 15cm Lead
The short strain-relieved cable reduces desk clutter and avoids blocking neighbouring USB ports.

  • The 15cm lead and 74mm body fit comfortably on a crowded desk or inside a laptop sleeve.

  1. James Kariuki (verified owner) –

Bought this for a desktop at the office that had a faulty onboard sound card. The separate mic and headphone jacks plus the third port for line-in cover exactly what I needed. No drivers required, plugged it in and Windows picked it up straight away.

  2. Esther Muthoni (verified owner) –

Sound quality is clean, no hiss. Good value.

  3. Collins Barasa (verified owner) –

I use it for voice recording on a laptop that dropped its headphone jack. The 15cm cable is short enough to keep the adapter out of the way. One thing: the mic input needs the headset set as the default recording device in Windows settings, which took me a few minutes to sort out. Once configured, it has been reliable for daily calls.
