Description
U7-LR WiFi 7 Access Point
The Ubiquiti U7-LR WiFi 7 is a high-capacity ceiling-mount access point engineered for expansive wireless coverage and multi-gigabit throughput. This 802.11be hardware operates across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands to deliver an aggregate radio rate of 9.3 Gbps. The 6 GHz band utilizes 320 MHz channel widths to provide massive data pipes and minimize spectral congestion. Multi-Link Operation (MLO) allows the device to aggregate multiple bands for a single client connection. This process reduces latency and improves reliability for high-bandwidth applications. Preamble puncturing further enhances performance by allowing the radio to transmit around narrow-band interference within a channel. This unit requires a 2.5 GbE uplink to support its high wireless speeds without creating a wired bottleneck.
Key Features
High-Performance Tri-Band Radio
The hardware provides 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz bands.Advanced Spatial Stream Configuration
- 6 GHz band features 4×4 MIMO for high-density environments.
- 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands utilize 2×2 MIMO configurations.
- Supports over 300 concurrent client connections.
Next-Generation Interference Mitigation
Preamble puncturing enables the radio to ignore specific frequencies within a channel that experience interference.Long-Range Antenna Design
- Optimized high-gain internal antennas cover up to 160 square meters.
- 6 dBi gain on the 6 GHz band ensures signal penetration and reach.
- Circular coverage pattern suits large open-plan office layouts.

Quick Start Guide
Why Choose U7-LR
The 802.11be architecture provides future-proof connectivity for modern enterprise environments.
Centralized management via UniFi Network version 8.1.127 or later simplifies deployment at scale.
The 2.5 GbE uplink ensures the wired backbone does not restrict wireless performance levels.
Enhanced 6 GHz spectrum access eliminates DFS-related wait times and interference issues.

We upgraded our Westlands office to the U7-LR to handle the heavy traffic during client meetings. The 9.3Gbps capacity is serious future-proofing, but the WiFi 7 latency improvements are already very noticeable on our newer laptops. It’s a solid piece of kit, though you definitely need a 2.5G switch to see the real benefits of that uplink. Delivery to our premises was prompt and the packaging was intact.

Excellent range on this unit. I replaced two older APs with just this one U7-LR and all the dead spots in the house are gone.

The tri-band feature on this U7 is a game changer for congested areas in Nairobi where 2.4GHz is a mess. Setup was straightforward via the UniFi controller as usual. Just a heads up for guys buying—make sure your PoE source can handle the power requirements because this LR model pulls a bit more juice than the older ones. Very happy with the throughput so far.
