Auto Toner Control Sensor for e-STUDIO Copiers

The Toshiba ATC sensor 6LJ60501000 measures toner concentration in the developer unit of e-STUDIO 2555C, 3055C, 3555C, 4555C and 5055C machines. It reports the toner-to-carrier ratio to the main board, which then controls toner supply from the cartridge. A contaminated or failed sensor causes faded prints, background shading and toner scatter.

The sensor mounts inside the developer unit and connects to the harness with a small plug. It works on the magnetic permeability principle: the coil inside the sensor detects changes in the carrier concentration as toner is consumed. The control board compares the reading against the target value stored in firmware and adjusts the supply motor duty cycle.
