Metal-Clad Switched Outlet
The Powermax 13A socket is a single-gang switched outlet built into a metal-clad housing for surface or conduit-box mounting. It carries a 230V 13A single-pole rating and dual earth terminals. The square-edge plate suits domestic, commercial and light industrial wiring.
Angled in-line terminals with captive screws hold 2.5mm² and 4.0mm² conductors. A single-pole switch breaks the live conductor only, which suits ring and radial circuits. The metal enclosure shields the terminal block from impact and adds mechanical protection where plastic plates would crack.
The socket follows BS 1363-2 for 13A fused plugs and shuttered contacts. Two earth terminals allow loop-in and loop-out wiring on the same plate. The switch mechanism uses a rocker rated for repeated operation. Fixing screws and a earth fly lead ship with the unit.
Installation requires a 25mm minimum back box depth, and the metal-clad body accepts 20mm conduit entries. The plate measures 86mm square and aligns with standard square-edge accessory ranges. Terminal capacity covers three 2.5mm² conductors or two 4.0mm² conductors per terminal.
