Description
5GHz Outdoor CPE and Backbone Unit
The MikroTik SXTsq 5 ac is a compact outdoor 802.11ac CPE and backbone unit with an integrated 16dBi dual-chain antenna. It combines a quad-core IPQ-4018 processor with 256MB RAM and a Level 3 RouterOS licence.
The 5GHz radio runs 802.11a/n/ac with two chains and reaches 867Mbps PHY rates. A single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port passes full gigabit throughput to the network. Transmit power reaches 25dBm at MCS0, and receive sensitivity falls to -96dBm at 6Mbps. The antenna design is roughly half the thickness of the earlier SXT 5 ac.
Passive PoE on 10-28V feeds the unit over the LAN cable at up to 7W. The 129 x 129 x 34mm housing carries an IP55 rating and runs from -40°C to 70°C. RouterOS provides bridging, routing, queues, and firewall rules on the same platform.
Operators deploy the unit as a subscriber CPE or as one end of a short point-to-point bridge. RouterOS handles VLANs, NAT, and wireless registration tables. The metal ring mount clamps the radio to a mast without extra brackets.
Key Features
Dual-Chain 5GHz Radio
The IPQ-4018 radio drives two spatial streams over 802.11a/n/ac for a maximum PHY rate of 867Mbps.16dBi Integrated Antenna
The panel antenna delivers 16dBi gain on 5GHz in a housing only 34mm deep.Quad-Core ARM Processor
Four ARM cores clock between 488MHz and 896MHz to handle routing, NAT, and wireless processing.Gigabit Ethernet Uplink
One 10/100/1000 port removes the 100Mbps ceiling found on earlier CPE hardware.Passive PoE Input
The radio accepts 10-28V passive PoE over the Ethernet cable and draws 7W maximum.RouterOS Level 3
The installed licence covers CPE operation with firewall, queues, and IPsec hardware acceleration.

Why Choose MikroTik SXTsq
The 16dBi panel antenna pairs with a 34mm housing for low visual impact on masts.
Gigabit Ethernet preserves throughput from the 802.11ac radio to the wired network.
Passive PoE over a single cable simplifies installation where mains power is absent.
RouterOS Level 3 delivers routing, firewall, and IPsec features without extra licences.
