Description
AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Routing Platform
The Mercusys MR80X router pairs 802.11ax dual-band radios with a Qualcomm dual-core CPU, delivering 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Four fixed 5 dBi antennas with beamforming focus radiated energy toward active clients.
Wired connectivity provides one gigabit WAN port and three gigabit LAN ports, with WPS and reset buttons on the rear panel. The chassis measures 208.8 × 171.6 × 41.7 mm and draws power from the supplied adapter.
Deployment fits desktop placement in homes, retail back offices and small branches. Operating range spans 0–40 °C at 10–90% non-condensing humidity. Access Point mode lets the unit act as a wireless segment behind an existing gateway or ISP modem.
Wireless Performance and Architecture
Key Features
160 MHz Channel Support
Doubles the usable channel width over 80 MHz designs, raising peak 5 GHz throughput to 2402 Mbps for large file transfers and 4K video delivery.Qualcomm Dual-Core Processing
- 64-bit integrated Wi-Fi 6 chipset
- Hardware NAT acceleration for gigabit WAN line rate
Beamforming with High-Gain Antennas
Four omnidirectional 5 dBi aerials carry integrated signal amplifiers and steer gain toward associated stations, extending usable coverage through interior walls.OFDMA and MU-MIMO Scheduling
Sub-carrier allocation serves several clients inside one transmission window, while multi-user MIMO raises aggregate throughput on congested networks.WPA3 Security Suite
Brute-force attack resistance, forward secrecy and 128-bit encryption ship as standard, with WPA2-Personal available for legacy clients.Smart Connect and Guest SSIDs
A single SSID steers each station to the strongest band, and separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz guest networks isolate visitor traffic.TWT and BSS Coloring
Target Wake Time lowers battery draw on IoT endpoints, and BSS coloring reduces co-channel interference from neighbouring access points.

Why Choose Mercusys MR80X
Gigabit Ethernet on WAN and LAN ports removes the wired bottleneck for fibre and DOCSIS links above 100 Mbps.
OpenVPN and PPTP server support gives remote staff an encrypted path into the branch network without extra hardware.
Access Point mode repurposes the unit as a Wi-Fi 6 segment when an existing router already handles DHCP and NAT.
The MERCUSYS app provides local and remote management, parental controls and new-device alerts across 26 languages.

Configured it in access point mode behind the main gateway and it works as expected. OneMesh compatibility with the extenders we already had saved a lot of rework.
Amina Hassan (verified owner) –
The beamforming actually made a difference in my L-shaped flat. The far bedroom used to drop to two bars on the old router and now holds full signal. Happy with the upgrade.
Samuel Mutua (verified owner) –
Good router overall but I wish it had more LAN ports. Four gigabit is tight for a home lab. Wi-Fi performance and WPA3 support are fine though.
Grace Njeri (verified owner) –
Ordered it expecting the 160 MHz channels to actually work, and they do on the 5 GHz band. Throughput on my NAS is noticeably better than the old AC router.
Peter Kariuki (verified owner) –
We deployed the MR80X in a small office with about twenty devices and the OFDMA scheduling keeps video calls stable during peak hours. The dual-core CPU handles NAT traffic without stalling. Only gripe is that the app interface could use better logging for client disconnects, but that is minor. Solid piece of kit for the money.

Delivery to Westlands was quick and the unit came well sealed. Working fine after two weeks.
Brian Ochieng (verified owner) –
Setup took under ten minutes on my fibre line. The AX3000 dual-band radios hold a steady 5 GHz signal across the whole apartment, and the four gigabit ports are a nice bonus for the office switch.
