Description
4G LTE Cat 4 Router for Primary or Backup WAN
Mercusys MB115-4G is a 300 Mbps wireless N 4G LTE router that combines a Cat 4 cellular modem with a four-port Fast Ethernet switch and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. This Cat 4 LTE router suits retail counters, remote offices and temporary sites that need cellular WAN without a separate modem. The chassis measures 219 x 140 x 32 mm and runs from a 9 V / 0.85 A external supply.
The cellular modem delivers Cat 4 throughput of up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink. This nano SIM CPE accepts one unlocked nano SIM and operates across FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and HSPA+/UMTS bands. Confirm the regional hardware revision against the local carrier profile before deployment. A LAN/WAN port provides wired WAN backup through cable, fiber or DSL modems, while three additional FE LAN ports connect local clients.
Wireless coverage comes from two external 4G antennas and two external Wi-Fi antennas. The N300 4G router delivers up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz under IEEE 802.11b/g/n and supports WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK encryption. The platform allows up to 32 associated clients, with 16 recommended for sustained throughput. Operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity.

Delivery to Thika was prompt and the router was well cushioned. Performance is decent though the antennas feel a bit plasticky. It’s been holding a stable 4G connection for streaming and browsing, which is what I needed.

We use it in a rental where we can’t get fixed internet. It handles the whole house—two phones, a laptop and a smart TV—without complaining. The 300 Mbps N speed is honest for what it is. One small thing: the indicator lights are bright at night, but a bit of tape sorted that.

Bought it for our small office in Nakuru as a backup when the main line goes down. The failover isn’t automatic, you switch the SIM manually, but for the money it’s a solid fallback. Signal lock on 4G was quick and stable through a full week of use.

Does exactly what it says. Good little router for a 4G setup.

Set this up at my folks’ place in Kitengela where fibre hasn’t reached. Popped in a Safaricom SIM, entered the APN, and we had Wi-Fi in under ten minutes. The 300 Mbps wireless N is plenty for browsing and WhatsApp calls. Only wish it had a 5GHz band, but for the price it does the job.

Got this for my sister’s salon in Eastleigh. She’s not technical at all but the setup wizard on the box made it easy—plugged in the SIM, followed the prompts, and it was broadcasting. The four LAN ports are handy for her POS and a printer. Been running daily for about a month with no dropouts. Genuine unit, sealed packaging.

Reliable unit so far. Easy to configure and the signal reaches my backyard.
