Description
Wired RGB Mechanical Keyboard for Gaming
The Logitech G512 is a full-size wired mechanical keyboard built for competitive play and long typing sessions. A 5052 aluminium-magnesium top case forms a rigid, non-slip chassis. Per-key LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting runs from seven onboard effects or from Logitech G HUB profiles.
Three GX switch profiles cover different feedback tastes. GX Blue delivers a tactile bump plus an audible click, GX Brown gives a quieter tactile bump, and GX Red offers a smooth linear stroke. Every profile carries a 70 million keystroke rating. Actuation sits at 1.9 mm with 50 g of force and 4 mm of total travel.
A dedicated second USB cable feeds the front passthrough port, so a mouse, phone or flash drive pulls full power and data speed. The 1 ms report rate plus 26-key rollover with anti-ghosting keep multi-key commands accurate under load. Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7 all run the board without extra drivers.
Key Features
GX Mechanical Switch Platform
- GX Blue: clicky actuation, 1.9 mm travel point, 50 g force
- GX Brown: tactile bump without the audible click
- GX Red: linear stroke for rapid repeated taps
- 70 million keystroke lifespan on all three profiles
Per-Key LIGHTSYNC RGB
Roughly 16.8 million colours per key, with seven onboard effects cycled by FN+F5 and a custom layout recalled with FN+F6.USB 2.0 Passthrough Port
The separate cable feeds the front port directly for full power throughput and full-speed data transfer.5052 Aluminium-Magnesium Top Case
A brushed metal plate stiffens the frame and limits flex during heavy keying.26-Key Rollover and Anti-Ghosting
Simultaneous presses register in the intended order, which matters for chording and macro input.Onboard Memory and Game Mode
Store lighting layouts on the keyboard itself; FN+F8 disables the Windows key during play.Programmable Function Row
Assign media, volume and macro commands through Logitech G HUB or LGS 8.98 and later.

User documentation
Why Choose G512
The alloy plate and 1.13 kg frame stay planted on a desk during fast input, which suits shared workstations and gaming benches alike.
Three switch profiles let procurement standardise on one chassis while matching feedback preference per user.
The front USB port removes a hub from the desk and keeps a mouse or phone charging at full current.
Onboard profiles travel with the board, so lighting and macro settings survive a move between machines.
