Description
20-Core Desktop Processing Platform
The Intel Core i7-14700F is a 14th-generation Raptor Lake Refresh desktop processor with 20 cores, 28 threads and a 5.4 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It ships in the FCLGA1700 package and targets gaming builds, workstation refreshes and general-purpose desktop fleets. Intel rates the part at 65 W processor base power with a 219 W maximum turbo power ceiling.
The hybrid core layout combines eight Performance-cores with twelve Efficient-cores. Performance-cores reach 5.3 GHz turbo and 2.1 GHz base, while Efficient-cores run 4.2 GHz turbo and 1.5 GHz base. Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 identifies the fastest cores and directs single-threaded work to them. Total cache measures 33 MB Smart Cache plus 28 MB L2.
Two memory channels support up to 192 GB of DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200, with 89.6 GB/s peak bandwidth. The CPU exposes 20 PCIe lanes split across PCIe 5.0 and 4.0, configurable as 1×16+4 or 2×8+4. DMI 4.0 provides eight lanes to the chipset. The F suffix omits integrated graphics, so a discrete GPU is required.
Key Features
Hybrid Core Architecture
Eight Performance-cores and twelve Efficient-cores deliver 28 threads for mixed workloads.Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0
- 5.4 GHz peak on the fastest cores
- 5.3 GHz Performance-core turbo
- 4.2 GHz Efficient-core turbo
33 MB Smart Cache
The L3 pool plus 28 MB L2 reduces memory latency on large datasets and game engines.DDR5 and DDR4 Compatibility
The memory controller supports both DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200, which eases board reuse.PCIe 5.0 Expansion
Twenty lanes across PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 feed current GPUs and NVMe storage at full width.Intel 7 Lithography
The Raptor Lake Refresh die uses the Intel 7 process for its performance and efficiency cores. No Integrated Graphics
The F-series designation removes the iGPU, cutting die area for builds with a discrete card.

Why Choose the i7-14700F
Twenty cores and 28 threads give procurement teams a single SKU for gaming, CAD and office deployments.
Dual DDR5 and DDR4 support lets existing LGA1700 boards reuse current memory kits.
PCIe 5.0 lanes sustain full bandwidth for current graphics cards and Gen5 NVMe drives.
The 65 W base power keeps sustained office loads inside standard tower cooling budgets.
Removing integrated graphics lowers cost where a discrete GPU is already specified.
33 MB Smart Cache and 28 MB L2 reduce cache misses on large working sets.

The 20 cores handle my Blender renders much faster than the 6-core chip it replaced. Runs cool with a decent tower cooler. Remember it has no integrated graphics, so you need a dedicated GPU or the board won’t POST with a display.

Bought for a workstation build at the office. Compiles code noticeably faster and the 5.4GHz boost helps with single-threaded work. Arrived sealed and on time.
Samuel Karanja (verified owner) –
Good chip for the money. 8 P-cores and 12 E-cores give plenty of headroom for VMs and multitasking. Needs a Z790 board to get the most out of it and a solid cooler because it does run warm under sustained load.

Upgraded from an older i5 and the difference in video editing is obvious. Premiere exports finish in half the time.
Kevin Mutiso (verified owner) –
Solid CPU. The LGA1700 socket meant I could reuse my existing board after a BIOS update. Performance is excellent for the price point.
Faith Wanjala (verified owner) –
Works well for the office workstation. Handles heavy Excel models and CAD without stutter. Power draw is modest at idle.
Dennis Kipruto (verified owner) –
Outstanding for gaming and streaming at the same time. The E-cores handle background tasks while the P-cores feed the GPU. Only gripe is the F suffix means no iGPU for troubleshooting, so keep a spare GPU on hand.
Lydia Muthoni (verified owner) –
Runs cool under my 240mm AIO and delivers the boost clocks it advertises. Good buy for a mid-range workstation build.
