Gigabit Access Switching for Campus and Branch Networks
The Huawei S310-24T4S switch provides 24 gigabit copper access ports and four fibre uplinks in a 1U rack chassis. Huawei builds it on the eKitEngine platform for campus access, branch wiring closets and gigabit-to-the-desk rollouts. It forwards at 42 Mpps with a 56 Gbps switching capacity.
Twenty-four 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports carry edge traffic at line rate. Four GE SFP cages accept eSFP, CWDM or DWDM optics, plus a GE copper SFP, so an uplink reaches the aggregation layer over multimode or single-mode fibre. The MAC table holds 16,000 entries and the device supports 4,094 VLANs.
Layer 2+ software adds IPv4 static routing between subnets without a separate router. Spanning tree, SEP, ERPS and Smart Link protect the topology against link loss. A built-in AC supply draws 34.04 W at maximum load and a single fan cools the metal chassis.
