24-Port Copper Gigabit Switching Platform

The GS3224 gigabit switch provides 24 auto-negotiating 10/100/1000BASE-T ports in a 1U rack-mount steel enclosure. Every port detects MDI/MDI-X polarity and cable speed without configuration. Plug in the uplink and the unit forwards traffic immediately, with no console session or management address required.

The internal switching fabric runs non-blocking at 48 Gbps with a forwarding rate of 35.7 Mpps. An 8K-entry MAC address table keeps local delivery off the uplinks, while store-and-forward processing strips runt and CRC-error frames before they reach the backbone. Jumbo frames up to 9 KB pass intact for storage and imaging traffic.

Deployment stays passive: the fanless chassis draws roughly 15 W under typical load and emits no acoustic noise in a shared office or comms cupboard. IEEE 802.3az energy-efficient Ethernet powers down idle links, and four 802.1p priority queues keep voice and video ahead of bulk transfers. Supplied brackets mount the unit in a standard 19-inch cabinet; rubber feet support shelf placement.
