Five Copper Ports for Small Office Networks

The GS105 5-Port Gigabit Switch adds five 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports to a small office, retail counter or server closet. Each port auto-negotiates speed, duplex and MDI/MDIX cable pinout. Plug the uplink into a router and the unit starts forwarding traffic without software installation or configuration.

Five gigabit PHYs share a non-blocking fabric rated at 10 Gbps, so every port can transmit and receive at line rate simultaneously. The store-and-forward engine holds 128 KB of packet buffer and learns up to 2,000 MAC addresses. Jumbo frames up to 9 KB pass through unfragmented, which helps large file transfers and backup jobs.

A metal chassis with no fan operates at 0 dB, so the unit suits shared desks and noise-sensitive rooms. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet cuts power on idle ports and short cable runs. An external adapter accepts 100 to 240 V AC input, and the carton includes a wall-mount kit for cabinet or wall fixing.
